Allow us to introduce you to our fantastic region and show you the best of what the Macedon Ranges has to offer. Our tour kicks off at the historic Hanging Rock, a sacred site for the Wurundjeri, Taungurong and Djada Wurrung people and also popularly known as the setting for Joan Lindsay’s novel “Picnic at Hanging Rock” and also Foxtel’s new miniseries. Next stop is the not so well kept local secret of Straws Lane and it’s gravity defying hill – it has to be seen to be believed! From here we climb to Mount Macedon, with a short bush walk to stretch your legs and take in the tranquil Sanatorium Lake. To give you the best view of the region, we’ll visit the highest point in the Macedon Ranges – the Camels Hump, as well as the iconic Memorial Cross. We’ll stop for lunch in Woodend and give you a chance to explore the vibrant cafe scene; or if beer is more your thing, grab a cleansing ale at the renowned Holgates Craft Brewery. The final stop of the day is the cleansing Lyonville Mineral Springs, where you will have the chance to taste the natural spring water located in the heart of the Wombat State Forest.
Pensioners & Concession (students aged 12 to 18) $85.
